Default Official Texans vs. Colts Game Thread, 12/5/2021

The 6-6 Indianapolis Colts visit NRG stadium this Sunday to take on the 2-9 Texans. The Texans are coming off a 21-14 home loss to the Jets, the Colts are coming off a 38-31 hard-fought home loss to the Bucs. The Colts could use a win against the lowly Texans to keep their playoff hopes alive. The Colts won the first matchup against the Texans this year 31-3 in Indy.

Colt's RB Jonathan Taylor is leading the league in rushing - 1205 yards. QB Carson Wentz is 12th in the league with 2790 passing yards. He's thrown 21 TDs, 5 INTs with a 96 rating. WR Michael Pittman Jr. is 14th in the league with 805 receiving yards.

When everything points to one team dominating, sometimes it's time to consider the other side and go contrary. I like the Texans here to bounce back from their embarrassing performance against the Jets and cover. I don't think they will win but I like them to hang around. I don't think it will be terribly lopsided like the first game.

Colts 30, Texans 24

I think the Texans know they were one of my picks this week and want no part of covering the spread.....

T Taylor = 3/10, 32 yards, 0 TDs, 1 INT, 1 Sack, 0.8 rating.

----------------------------------------

RB Royce Freeman = 2 carries, 5 yards. Who? 6'0" 238 RB, 3 years with the Broncos, went to Oregon.

That concludes today's episode of "Meet the Texans"....

Texans getting skunked. Mills in at QB on the last series. Moved the ball some but couldn't get a 4th down conversion.

Well that game was a real hard one for a Texans fan to watch and we've already some real doozies.
Way to hang in there Arky appreciate your time an effort.

Thanks!

They played like they are tanking today. Tyrod was miserable. Davis Mills not much better. Hate the run-the-ball/dink and dunk offense - they aren't very good at it.

Next up is Seattle at NRG. Early line has the Seahawks by 6½ to 8.

Tyrod's performance was surprisingly bad. The Texans are tanking... suspending Cunningham a week after Reid is making it obvious but Tyrod and all other players on the field should be still playing their best effort level. Tyrod is probably just showing us he is what he is.... a career backup at NFL standard, which is not all that surprising actually.

The players aren't dumb. Morale is likely suffering when they see these lame suspensions.

LB Kamu Grugier-Hill deserves mention for his 20 tackles yesterday. I think this was a Texan record. Looks like a keeper (but you never know with the Texans).

I think you're misreading this, I don't think the Texans are anywhere near this devious. This isn't a deliberate tank, this is just incompetence masquerading as building culture. I absolutely reject the notion that these suspensions are part of a tanking effort. It's just more garden variety Texans idiocy.

But they're going to end up with a top two pick in the draft and I for one can't wait to see how that bug eyed lunatic fks it up.
