Default Derrick Ward

rpofootballtalk reports that he is visiting houston today. Given recent injuries this might be a good fit.

Before cuts have been finalized we could also look at Shaun Alexander, Tatum Bell, Thomas Brown, T.J. Duckett, De'shaun Foster, etc.

Let's wait and see what comes free Saturday

You are kidding? Shaun Alexander who was terrible three years ago? I have more burst than he does. Maybe I should loiter around the training facility.

We should rename this thread "Waiver Wire RB's"..... just a thought.

Saw a tweet from Schefter - Ladell has been cut by NOLA.

Perhaps I'm wrong, I think Adrian Foster is a very good starting RB.

We don't really know how bad the toes are yet for Slayton or Jermiah, but I think both make a good 2 or 3 if heahlthy, hopefully will be by game with Indy.

I thought Chris Johnson would make a good backup, maybe needs a little cleanup but wasn't bad. He had some good runs as well. And he was playing mostly with three's and fours in front of him.

I don't think we need a 30+ year old backup RB, we've tried that a few times without much success.

Well, if they evaluate and bring in a good RB , ok, maybe a practice squad guy or two with upside in case these guys stay injured or can't come back.

That was my point. Let's wait until some final cuts have been made so we can choose from a larger and hopefully, better selection. There are some teams who currently have 6 RBs on the roster where a good RB who makes too much money is going to be cut.

I suppose the Texans were afraid he'd get away. So, D. Ward has been signed by Houston. We'll see how that plays out.

at this point in the preseason with only days for Ward to learn the playbook and terms.. i would think the extra day or two of having him as opposed to waiting on someone else to be cut and then brought in for a try out probably expedited matters as well.

well, they cut Chris Henry, guess they are waiting on Slayton and Johnson RB's to get well.
