Not that I don't trust Lance, but here's the St. Petersburg Times corroborating the claim.

I believe the Chronicle miss-spelled the name. Try Nading, at least I found a DE at Colorado State by that name.

You're welcome. Interesting signings: the DT from Utah ran a 4.75/40 out of J.C. and the LB from Troy a 4.58/40 and the WR from Hawaii a low 4.3/40. If any of this is to be believed there are going to be some "quick" practice guys for the starters to contend with.

LB Ben Moffitt, South Florida
WR Ryan Grice-Mullins, Hawaii' LB Marcus Richardson, Troy TE Cole Bennett, Auburn CB Josh Bell, Baylor WR Darnell Jenkins, Miami DE Jesse Nading, Colorado State DT Gabe Long, Utah These are according to DraftDaddy.com I'm really happy about Moffitt and glad to see a DE. Nading was the 49th ranked DE according to DraftScout and they have him running the 40 in 4.93, which isn't "quick" by any means. He's 6'5" and 260lbs, so he has some size. He played in our East-West Shrine game and did pretty well against Tyler Polumbus and Geoff Schwartz. He had 4 sacks as a Junior and only .5 sacks as a senior. Grice-Mullins should make Harry Williams expendable. He doesn't have "long speed" (4.53 - 40) but his Cone (6.91) and Shuttle (4.16) times are evident of his quickness. This is a guy who can play the slot when we go 4 - wide. He's kind of small, so hopefully he can take a hit across the middle. Marcus Richardson is interesting. He played DB in highschool and does really well in coverage. I mentioned before that was Adibi's strength, so Richardson, Adibi, and Greenwood should improve our LB corps pass coverage skills. We have added some speed at least. Richardson: 4.53 - 40, 4.40 - Shuttle, 6.7 - Cone Moffitt: 4.59 - 40, 4.21 - Shuttle, 6.75 - Cone Adibi: 4.69 - 40, 4.47 - Shuttle. The following was from Speedburners Site....for what it's worth.
FOOTBALL BURNERS BLAZE TO FAST FORTIES! Football burners from the University of Hawaii blazed to some great forty yard dash times at the Hawaii Pro Timing Day and the Hamilton Tiger Cat private workout this week. WR Ryan Grice Mullins ran a 4.33, WR Davone Bess turned a 4.49, and DB Ryan Keomaka sped to a 4.35 to top the charts. OLB Brad Kalilimoku ran 4.56, QB Leon Jackson from Utah State went 4.6, and big OT Kamron Leonard at 6-8 337 pounds ran an incredible 5.0! DB Rob Herbert from Colorado State ran 4.57, and WR Daniel Robinson from UTEP ran 4.45. Congrats to all! |

I think the official Combine time of 4.53 is probably more realistic. Of course, it really comes down to how can he separate on Sundays with pads on.

OG Eric Young Tenn - This guy hasn't signed? Did he announce his retirement?
DE Darrell Robertson - Couldn't we sign him and them put him on IR? |

I agree.
Initially I wondered why the kid from UH, Aldridge was not taken with his quicks. Seeing this on the kid from Hawaii somewhat answered the question, now I'm back to scratching my head. |

Hey, Vince Redd from Liberty was signed by the Patriots. Could somebody call the Texans and let them know that Bryan Wilson of Morgan State might be able to add a couple of pounds and play DE. Maybe give Casper Brinkley a call, he's from South Carolina.

Oh, another guy who could possibly compete at the DE position who is similar to Elvis Dumervil (short). Take a look...
http://www.onnetworks.com/videos/dra...ic-foster---dl Eric Foster DE/OLB Rutgers http://thehuddlereport.com/ppSD/prot...ric.Foster.htm STRENGTHS Eric is a football player. He has excellent "in the box" quickness and does a great job analyzing a play before, during and after it has happened. Eric has terrific instincts, reactions and is a head up, wrap up, squeeze and drive tackler. He exhibits good leadership skills and is a smart player who understands situational football. He loves to win and he does not care how his team accomplishes winning as long as they win. The team that signs Eric will be signing a player who will learn and play any position asked of him as long as he can get on the field and help his team win. Eric wants to be an NFL player -- that is his main goal. NEEDS TO IMPROVE He is too small to be a DT, not fast enough to be an LB, not big enough to be a DE and, in spite of all that, I think he will be a core player for the team that drafts him. I'm not sure what position he'll play, but you can see that Eric needs to be an NFL football player. TALENT BOARD ROUND 5 Eric is just an instinctive football player. He is the type of player that may not have a set position now, but my advice is to just draft him and then find out how he fits into your system afterwards. Maybe he is just a situational pass rusher or an OLB in a 3-4 defense or maybe, he is just a special teams player; the truth is that a player like Eric belongs on the football field. He reminds me a little of Mike Vrabel (OLB NE Patriots), but he is more explosive. I'm not sure if he has all the skills needed to be a true OLB, but he does have the instincts and quickness and is a hell of a tackler. Those skills alone are worth drafting the kid and seeing where he fits on your team. I would think that teams like the Patriots, Jets, Dolphins, Cowboys or any other 3-4 defense teams would be interested in drafting Eric. I know this kid is going to help the team that drafts him in some capacity and I know the fans are going to love him as well. He might not be drafted at all, but all I can say is keep track of this kid. He is a pure football player and I suspect if you look up the words "football player" in the dictionary - a picture of Eric will be there. |
