Default Texans Schedule Comes Out Tonight

As a review, this is what we already know of the schedule:

Home opponents
-------------------
Indianapolis
Jacksonville
Tennessee
Atlanta
Carolina
Denver
Oakland
New England

Road opponents
------------------
Indianapolis
Jacksonville * - in London (11/3 @ Wembley Stadium)
Tennessee
New Orleans
Tampa Bay
Kansas City
LA Chargers
Baltimore

There is scuttlebutt that the Texans will host Denver in week one but there is no confirmation of this.

Expect the bye week to be wrapped around the London game somehow, at least I hope so.

Well the scuttlebutt I heard about was that we are to go to NOLA to open the season as the first half of the MNF doubleheader.

Obviously there are teams that turn out to be really good that you thought would be bad and bad that you thought would be good, but this has the potential to be a brutal schedule.

Maybe the draft will change my attitude but, presently, I'm thinking 7-9 this year. I felt very good about the crap on our schedule last season. This year, I'm just not enthusiastic.

Upside: If there's a snow game this year, it will be at Tennessee. If it snows in Tampa, I'll be the first to proclaim it Global Warming.

Agree. 7-9 is kind of where I pegged them at. The 3 games in a row against the Chargers, Panthers and Falcons might end up being where they improve on that.

The 7 wins I picked were JAX (x2), OAK, TB, TEN, DEN and then either BALT or one of the games vs IND.

The games vs LAC, CAR and ATL will determine where they finish between 7-9 and 10-6.

So, officially 3 prime time games:

MNF - 9/9 vs. New Orleans
TNF - 11/21 vs. Indy
SNF - 12/1 vs. New England

And 2 irregular starts:

Sun 11/3 8:30am @ Jacksonville (London)
(possibly) Sat 12/21 @ Tampa Bay (otherwise a regular game)

-------------------------------

I'm expecting Watson to shake a leg this year. It was a decent year but he could have done much better - perhaps a little bit of the sophomore slump.... Fully expect him to bring back some of the excitement of his rookie year. The defense is going to be interesting - a new look.... they might be better, they might be worse, who knows. If the team health generally holds up, I'm thinking 8-8 or better....
