Based on the article, it sounds like BS to me.

Although he is "just a FB", we don't need distractions like this heading into camp. With the way Goddell is dropping the hammer on people, things like this make me nervous.......

It looks like a hometown guy trying to make a buck off the "NFL Star". Hopefully the police see it this way also.

The fact that he got out on a written promise, sure makes it seem that they do...

misdemeanor's usually are not much more than a fine, especially 1st time offenders. Plus everyone who signs a traffic ticket is doing the same thing.

"Leach is known for his charity work and met President George W. Bush on Nov. 30, 2008, when he received the President's Volunteer Service Award. "

NP because you know Goddell has gotta be a Republican and sounds as if Leach is connected.

I guess I will never understand why millionaires feel the need to be in bars at 2 oclock in the morning.

It wont be a misdemeanor if he really hit the guy with a bottle. Thats aggravated assult with a deadly weapon.

In the article it says he was hosting a black tie event in his home town at a restaurant.

Does sound like it went on too long and people drank too much.

Sounds more like self defense, not very serious, two sides to a small story that hapened over a week ago.

All he has been charged with so far is the misdemeanor. So I am going by that.

he obviously didn't actually hit him in the face with a beer bottle, at least not on purpose. Fact is if he had used a bottle, he would've been charged with aggravated assault, as opposed to simple assault. period. If a beat cop who's working at 2am can get a higher "bust" on his record, he does it. cops want to work like regular people too, and a stellar service record is one way to do that.
