Calhoun, Kaufusi, Tapper, and Nassib are on ESPN's "Big Board" as 4th round picks on the "GMs Roundtable." I found that to be interesting. Will note when they are actually drafted as they are some of my favorite Edge Rushers in this draft class.

Default Mike Manock Mock

http://www.nfl.com/draft/2016/mock-d...966-sf25225966

Okay, so I feel like my board is 'set' and I can look forward to the draft tomorrow. And I sit down in front of my t.v. and listen to Mike Mayock unveil his mock draft. I'm feeling confident that I'm getting Conklin, Lee, Kelly, or Doctson and wouldn't you know it....they are all off the board at #22. So, my top guy is WR Michael Thomas. Laquon Treadwell is drafted #23 by the Vikings. Other players I have with 1st round grades who remain undrafted by pick #32 are: DE Bronson Kaufusi, WR Sterling Shepard, DE Carl Nassib, OT Jason Spriggs, NT Vernon Butler, and NT Kenny Clark. So, I'm willing to look for a trade that the Texans can slide down at the most 7 spots and pick up some extra picks in the 2nd, 3rd, and/or 4th rounds.

If I had to stay at #22, I'd take Butler in this scenario but I'd rather trade down. If this played out, and the Broncos wanted Connor Cook, I'd offer them our #22 for their #31 and their 31st pick in the third.

BTW, not buying the Broncos taking a S in the first round. 65-70% sure they take the best QB on the board and, if not, it will be an OL or a DL.

Roy, I know you were all over Dak Prescott from the early draft process. It's just preseason but you look like a genius so far. He's been great against the scrubs and it looks like he'll get a chance to be great against real NFL players as Romo is hurt again for anywhere from a day to the rest of the year (depending on if you ask Jerry Jones or a doctor).

Since Romo got hurt on like the third play Prescott played against their ones for quite a while. I hate to say it because, you know, Cowboys, but the guy is playing out of his mind.

It would be hard to swallow if the Cowboys foolishly bet on "4 more years of health" for Romo (Jones' words), only to have Prescott fall in their laps and bail them out.

I felt like he reminded me of Steve McNair. He improved from being just a running QB to be a more well-rounded QB who improved his touch and accuracy. But what impressed me the most was his leadership at Mississippi State. He put them on the map and carried them on his shoulders. He was not overwhelmed at the Senior Bowl and actually impressed me again. The only RED Flag was the DUI before the draft. I knew that would drop his draft status. Being behind Romo, I thought he would get some playing time, but didn't believe that he would be the starting QB in week one. I am definitely not a Cowboys fan, but I will be watching to see Dak develop.

Perhaps CBS Sportsline has players like Prescott, Kenyan Drake, Aaron Green, Matt Ioannidis, Blake Martinez, D.J. Reader, Miles Killebrew, Jacoby Brissett, Kevin Hogan, and Jayron Kearse too low or I am rating them too high. We shall know more after the Combine.
Sometimes I just outsmart myself. Another reason I dropped Dak was because we signed Brock Osweiler, and I don't believe that this coaching staff would be a great fit for Dak

That seems to be exactly what happened.

Watching the Patriots tonight and noted Joe Thuney and Ted Karras are starting. A couple of My Guys I targeted later in the draft.

I had Nassib #14 & Green #43. I wish that the Colts would take a look at my draft board. Nassib would have been nice in the 2nd round. Sorry, but scoring 35 points and still losing makes me perturbed.

Dak Prescott is having a pretty nice little rookie season. As My Colts are starting Tolzien against the Steelers, it would have been nice to see him playing with Andrew Luck out. I am also of the opinion that it would have been better to have drafted Dak in the 3rd round instead of signing Brock Osweiler as a Free Agent here in Houston.

So Roy - how did the whole league (including Dallas) miss it on Prescott, even Dallas didn't draft him until very late in the 4th round with their second of two 4th round picks ?

The whole league missed out on Dak Prescott for a couple of reasons. I would have to believe that the DUI he got right before the draft didn't do him any favors. Then, there was the Tim Tebow bias against him since he was running the same show with Tebow's ex-offensive coordinator. Teams didn't feel like the college success would translate into the NFL. Still I was surprised to see that the Patriots selected Jacoby Brissett before Prescott in the draft. I had Brissett as a plan B if Prescott went early in the draft. All I knew was that Dak improved every year with his paasing, and turned around the Mississippi State program and had them ranked. Every time I saw him play he exuded confidence and leadership. Not the fake motivation, but actual passion and his teammates followed him. I knew he was a project, but I loved his demeanor and work ethic to bet on his continued success.

Turns out 4th rounder Prescott is not a project but rather a ready to go NFL starter his rookie year. It would seem a better example of a project is #1 overall Goff with the Rams. I think the truth is hardly nobody can successfully evaluate college QBs re their NFL potential.
And just look at what "QB guru" Bill O'Brien missed in his first Draft with his second round pick: Derrick Carr, Garralo (spell?) Bridgewater.
