Default Off Season Needs?

According to Walters Football.com
Quote:
1 Cornerback: Dunta Robinson is not expected back; unless he's franchised, he'll likely take a giant offer elsewhere. Assuming this is the case, Houston will have to spend an early-round selection on a cornerback.

2 Free Safety: Surprise, surprise - Eugene Wilson was placed on injured reserve in the middle of the season. Wilson has now missed 29 games in the last four years. The Texans won't be able to depend on him going forward. There will be plenty of safeties to be had in Rounds 2-5.

3 Defensive Tackle: Houston needs a consistent option next to Amobi Okoye. Of course, Okoye isn't playing that well either, but that's another story. Dan Williams and Brian Price will be targeted in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft.

4 Guard: The Texans need to upgrade the interior of their offensive line. Running the ball is a major challenge for them right now. A Round 2-4 selection can be used on a guard.

5 Running Back: After a brilliant rookie year, Steve Slaton couldn't handle the workload on his own. Houston's front office and coaching staff has announced that acquiring a running back is a priority. They'll look at Jonathan Dwyer or Anthony Dixon in the second round of the 2010 NFL Draft.

6 No. 2 Wide Receiver: Jacoby Jones will probably be given the chance to start across from Andre Johnson next year. I'm not a big fan of this, but the Texans have other needs to address.

7 Backup Quarterback: The Texans are very fortunate that Matt Schaub played all but 18 snaps in 2009. In those 18 other snaps, however, Rex Grossman showed everyone just how dreadful he is. A solid backup for Schaub is needed.

8 Kicker: Kris Brown can make any kick - unless it's in the final two minutes. Brown is a choke-artist who cost Houston two potential victories in 2009.
It not possible to cover all the needs with one draft, unless we trade down for extra picks, or give up future picks for this year.

I agree that CB needs to be a top priority and I would take two CBs in the draft, or go after Leigh Bodden and draft one stud.

Do we already have our Safeties? Bodden and Barber/Nolan(?), or do we need to draft a guy like Darrell Stuckey or Kam Chancellor later in the draft. FA I would target is Darren Sharper, and still draft a young guy.

I like Dan Williams with the 1st pick, that would answer the NT position. But what if Wilfork is not Franchised? Go for him with all you got. BTW we might be able to get Williams with a trade down.

Guard? Not sure Pitts is back and healthy, same with Briesel, so I have to figure both are not going to be here, Could get a solid Guard in the 2nd and 3rd rounds, Petrus and Johnson pairing might be fun? Again will need extra picks to pull this off.

RB? Not in the 1st IMO. We will not stand pat either. So what will they do? I don't know, but I know I will be scratching my head when they do it.

WR 2, resign Walters next, Backup QB? Am the only one that likes the John David Booty signing? Orlovsky will be given a chance to earn his high salary, doubt he earns it. Good bye Grossman. Sorry no wasted pick on a QB this year.

Kicker? Drafting a Kicker is a risky proposal on the better teams, better to sign a vet, Neil Rackers anyone? Perhaps an Olindo Mare type.

Not on this list is Punter, but I would bring the kid Justin Brantly again for a look. See what he learned last season and what his desire level is.
