I find all this over analyzing ridiculous... but then again there's nothing else to talk about nowadays so i can see why ppl are nit picking at this decision. Im positive Phillips will do his best to put Mario in a position to make plays. I'm pretty sure he'll drop on rare occasions and do well. Heck if I'm not mistaken, I saw Bulman drop back a couple times in the Indy opener last year and it had Manning rattled for most of the game since he was on his ass more times than what he's accustomed to.

I agree with Fonz, Wade has a track record and I think he is a lot more qualified then any of us. He is known for adjusting his system to fit his players strengths. So wait to see this on the on field before anyone blast it.

Wade or Reggie was quoted as saying that our defense is closer to a 5-2 than a true 3-4. Anyone of the 5 front 5 could be coming or dropping. We have versatility with our guys. Mario and Watts both are extremely athletic and strong. Think about it Mario and Smith both will be coming off the weakside. And on occasion Cushing also. I think it has the potential to be fun to watch.

Peyton should be befuddled by the new looks.

I dunno, so I'm asking: is the 5-2 the same as the 3-4 in the sense that both have only 3 down lineman ? Or put another way, the only difference between the 5-2 and 3-4 is that in the former the OLBs remain standing but move right up on the los ? Or finally, are there actually 5 guys on the los with their hands in the dirt in the 5-2 ?

It has 3 guys with their hands in the dirt. The two OLBs will be closer to the los. Where the DE line up in relation to the OTs is different.

Cowher thinks it might work in Texans 3-4, more like a 5-2,

Hmm...good read. Mario is going to be interesting to watch this year, as he will probably be coming from all over the lot.
