I'm so tired of these guys blowing it when it counts. Typical Texans BS!!!! The clock management at the end was atrocious.

Reminds me of the Geico commercial, the one with the wad of bills with the
pair of eyes on top and they tell you it's there for the taking and I'm not even talking about Browns missed kick. That second interception by Pollard. That was our chance to take control of the game, but we blew the opportunity. We're not there yet, but we're making progress. |

Shame we couldn't take it to overtime but, given how bad the first quarter was, I can't say I'm disappointed.
We'll get another crack at them in our house and things will be different. One thing to take away is that, since the Week 1 debacle, we've been competitive in every game this year. We've been ahead or tied in the second half of every game this year which is a lot better than previous years where we got blown out 4-5 times a year. I really hope Satan Manning's career doesn't drag on forever like Favre's.

Not sure I agree with you here. We had time to kick the ball, which is about what we could hope for with no timeouts. Granted, it was a little tighter than it should have been, but we still had the opportunity to kick the ball.

......But it was still the same result as in the Arizona game. Close but no cigar.

I have no idea how they are going to do it, but they have got to figure out something to do to help contain Clark. He killed us today.

Bernard Pollard and Glover Quinn played really well. I was happy to see them making plays most of the game.
If the Texans had run a play quickly at the 2 yard line instead of letting the clock go to the 2 minute warning, I'm pretty sure we get at least a FG from that point. Instead, they allowed the Colts to Challenge the play and lost the ball. We had too many penalties to make it as close as it was. If we win at home, it's a good season to split with the Colts. We've only beaten them once, the Christmas miracle.

The offense definitely didn't look the same in ODs absence today, and Joel Dressen probably isn't the answer to replace OD if we are looking for a
sure-handed, athletic TE to run those routes over the middle like OD does ? But when Casey returns, he should be much closer to giving us the TE with the skill-set we get with OD on the field ? |

Ryan Moats didn't look like Eric Dickerson this week either. I think I'll give Dreesen another couple of games before making him out to be a lost cause. A part of Daniels' success has to do with the "chemistry" between he and Schaub.

First, big thanks to Arky for this week and every week keeping the gameday thread updated like he does. Helps when there are times (like today for me) where I can only keep up with the game sporadically via radio and mobile device.
Second, my DVR had a problem and failed to record. I'll catch the replay later in the week, but since I don't want to do a write-up without actually watching the whole game, anyone want to volunteer to guest-write a front page article for the site? First one to volunteer via post in this thread - just email me the text and I'll take care of the rest. |

If our coaches can apparently make pretty good adjustments to what other teams are doing why can't they have a better game plan to begin with ? It looked like in the first quarter the Texans didn't even know what game they were playing. The announcers made a point at the beginning of the game that Peyton knew what defense we were running yesterday ?

As far as a write-up/post game summary on the game, you do such a great job... Perhaps someone will take the assignment after having digested the game for a few days.... Last edited by Arky; 11-09-2009 at 12:04 AM. |

Today's game seem to me to be a combination of an uptight Texan offense and defense and the Texan defense in particular showing the Colts offense way too much respect. It was the new guys first look at Colts vs. Texans: Cushing, Pollard, Cody, Quin, etc. Even Schaub has limited time vs. Colts.... I think they will all be better in the rematch and I hope we kick their butts and I think they will. This would be, of course, after taking care of business against the rejuvenated Titans/VY in the Monday night game.... |

Arky, my thanks as well. If nothing else, Keith should reimburse you any charges for antacids and blood pressure meds.
![]() I switched channels after it got to 13-0 and when the Texans came back I decided, for good luck, to keep it on the Packers-Bucs game (which Fox switched us to after the Cardinals-Bears game turned into a blowout) so I can't review what I didn't see. |

I am bummed out about the loss. I am very pleased with turnaround of the defense. IMO, I think Frank Bush can get the job done. We felt the loss of OD early on when we could not get a first down. OD is great in those third and mid situations to be able to get us a first, instead of 1-2-3 kick that we did early on.
The guys settled down and played ball, and took it to the Colts. Showed some moxy and guts to get in position to tie the game. There is not a game on the schedule that is not winnable after the bye, and the break comes at a really good time. Get the guys healed up and fresh, get Dreeses acclimated to the new roll and get ready to call on MNF. Side note, I really like the all white uniforms with the blue helmets.

Did anyone else get the impression the ref's were making sure Indy won? seemed to me they missed a few against Indy that were pretty obvious.
Now we get two weeks off to heal and train up on a few things. |

I think this loss hurt more than any other in our short history. But the fates decided it was just not to be.

No, I think the Raiders loss last year hurt more becuase it kept us from having our first winning season. Not to mention that we would have been mathematically in the playoff hunt heading into our last game.
