I'll take 13 points allowed and whatever the yardage is. Especially against a team that moved it well against new England last week. Great job today defense, I knew all along you would play great today.

2-0 and all alone in first place in the division. All that with almost nothing from Foster. Can't quibble too much about that.

Jonathon Joseph clearly matters. Whether from how good he is or from how bad our other options, or some combination of the two, I'm not sure. But we were very different without him.

I am happy for another Texans win.

Too bad you were wrong twice Chuck. Maybe next week.

Given the appalling state of public education in Texas I suppose I should assume that many of you will have difficulties with reading comprehension. You obviously do.

I'm terrified of the team's getting tested by a real running game and/or a real passer. The ILBs are a concern (Cushing showed a lot of lateral speed last week at least but I worry about power running attacks wearing down the middle of the defense) and the secondary can't cover.
And then:

I should have been more clear. I'm not saying that my fears will be realized this week but that those are my general concerns. The Dolphins are offensively challenged and I'd like to think the Texans can keep them well contained.
Despite barrett's ridiculous criticisms I am not being vague or arranging a scenario where I cannot be wrong no matter the result. I watched the entire game, closely. I saw much to be concerned about with respect to the two specific areas I mentioned prior to the game. Since your attention was obviously divided among the game, today's exciting Funny Car racing and live coverage of the Professional Noodling Championship on the Trailer Channel you may have missed the weaknesses I'd described. I can assure you that they will be in full view next week.

1. We made Henne look like a better QB than he is.

2. We better shore up that middle against the run, and do it quick, or the rest of the league is gonna run up the gut on us all day long.

3. We still need more help in the secondary than just JJo, Manning and the Mighty Quin. Will Kareem ever be any good? Allen doesn't appear to be the answer either.

4. Kubiak is too damn conservative when he has the tools to open up the offense. And I take nothing away from the running of Tate.

5. Was it just me or was Phillips not using his blitz package to good advantage? Or was it just Kubiak being conservative?

6 I'm happy that we won. I just think we made it tougher than it should have been.

It wasn't pretty, but we are still 2-0 and that feels great ! I know we've started like this before, like just last year, but hopefully it's a different kinda year for us. OK now the schedule gets tough, so we shall see ?

Chuck, during the game you told us all how bad the Texans defense was while it was playing great. When I said something you told me you were right because of what Pitt and NO would do to the Texans. But you were charitable enough to tell me that if the Texans go 10-2 I am right and you are wrong (not that I ever said I was on board with this team, you'll never find a post close to that, all I've posted about is the first 2 games).

So what if they go 9-3, are you wrong then? What about 8-4? That is why you are vague. You are predicting doom and then interpreting that doom to mean whatever you think you see (I am not sure what you saw in a game where we allowed 13 points).

So how about you set an over/under on Texans wins after 12 games (your arbitrary time to admit you were wrong). That way, rather than ignoring facts for "what you see" while we are all all watching the wrong game, we can actually evaluate what you are saying based on what happens on the field (like 13 points allowed would allow the normal person to give the defense a passing grade).

Or you can keep pissing in everyone's cornflakes because you are bitter about the head coach not being fired (or wi-fi not being available in the stadium, or whatever other current soap box you have).

Loolks loile Chuck can't take a joke or criticism either. Just keep revising your statements, you'll get it right eventually with a little hindsight. Just relax man.

Henne struggled all day. He completed %40 of his passes for under 200 yards, an interception, and was sacked multiple times.

Kubiak was plenty aggressive in a game we never trailed. If a team is worse than you and you never trail, no reason to air it out.

I think your #3 is dead on though. Whenever we don't get pressure, we struggle with making a play on the ball in the backend.

I complained about Kareem Jackson after he got torched and was called for a pass interference penalty. Maybe you think he's great. I don't. Maybe you think the secondary is good enough to stop the Saints' passing attack. I don't. Maybe you think that beating Collins and Indy and Henne and Miami is a sign that the team's defense is suddenly ferocious. I don't.

That's not black cloud pessimism; that's reality. I think a healthy Texans will win the division handily. Is that the doom and gloom you keep talking about? Winning the division or any taste of the playoffs would be a hell of a lot better than what we've experienced to date. But I don't want the team to win the division. I want the team to win the Super Bowl.

So no prediction on record? Just some serious fence riding where you get to attack everything, call everyone else homers, and then predict division championships?

You are a true voice in the wildernes.

And you did more than talk about 1 Jackson PI. You told me they ran at will and abused our CBs in a game they barely hit 300 yards and scored 13 points. But maybe you were splitting your attention between the game and dancing with the stars off your DVD (I can actually do that too and it doesn't make any point).

I'm aware that I stand to gain very little by making game by game predictions but since I seem to amuse you so much it would be uncharacteristically uncharitable for me to deny you your entertainment.

A guy who had never played in an NFL game ran for more than 100 yards against the Texans, mainly by running straight up the middle. Did you notice that at all? You may recall that I had voiced a concern about that prior to the game.

You can accuse me of not paying attention all you like but you and I both know that you're the one pretending like things that are happening in fact aren't.

Kind of like you just pretended the CB comment wasn't there. That kind of selective memory is the problem. Your spin doctoring could get you a job in DC.
