Just thinking about the whole trade down scenario....
If the Jets are interested in a QB, much like the Bears, then we could trade down to Chicago's #18 so they could draft Mark Sanchez. The Baltimore Ravens may also want to jump up the draft board to select a Maualuga, Maybin, or Harvin from # 26. Lastly, Seattle may just want Josh Freeman enough to trade up from #37 to groom behind Hasselback. What might become a bidding contest between two NFC West teams, SF and Seattle (the 49ers offered #43). What would the trade chart net us for 3 trade downs? #15 = 1050 points #18 = 900 points #84 = 170 points #26 = 700 points #88 = 150 points #123 = 49 points #37 = 530 points #68 = 250 points #112 - 70 points We'd have to give up our 4th round pick to Seattle to make the deal work. So, we get these picks on draft day to work with.... #37 (2)DT Ziggy Hood Missouri 6' 2 7/8" 300 #46 (2)OC Eric Wood Louisville 6' 4" 310 #68 (3)SS Chip Vaughn Wake Forest 6' 1 3/8" 221 #77 (3)DE Lawrence Sidbury Richmond 6' 2 3/8" 266 #84 (3)WLB Gerald McGrath Southern Miss 6' 2" 231 #88 (3)SLB Dannell Ellerbe Georgia 6' 1" 236 #122 (4)DE Kyle Moore USC 6' 5" 272 #123 (4)DT Roy Miller Texas 6' 1" 310 #152 (5)OC A.Q. Shipley Penn St 6' 1" 304 #188 (6)RB Ian Johnson Boise State 5' 11" 212 #223 (7)CB Don Carey Norfolk State 5' 11" 192 I was using my draft board and the newest THR Computer mock to fill in the slots. Unfortunately I was unable to get RB Cedrick Peerman (#121) OR FS Chris Clemons (#172). However, overall I'd be pleased with this draft. RDE#1 Antonio Smith - replaces Weaver RDE#2 Kyle Moore - replace Bulman NT Travis Johnson NT Frank Okam NT Roy Miller - replaces Robinson DT Amobi Okoye DT Ziggy Hood - replaces Zgonina DT Shaun Cody - makes TJ expendable LDE #1 Mario Williams LDE #2 Lawrence Sidbury - Goodbye Kalu/Nading I think the D-Line becomes very dynamic and stays fresh for 16 games. Wood can play RG when Shipley is ready to play OC.
