Schaub is what he is, a very good passer, but immobile as a statue in the pocket. Sage is very agile in the pocket, but doesn't have the innate talent that Schaub has to get the ball to the WR. If we could wrap up the good traits of both we would have a workable QB. Either that or get the best Oline in the league to protect Schaub.

I am getting tired of always having to make excuses for this team. They are now 7 years down the road, no longer can be called an expansion team, and yet they are still making expansion franchise mistakes. It's getting downright ridiculous. Do we need to get rid of everyone and start retooling? I hope not. However, something has got to be done to get this team off the schneid. McNair, it is time for you to step in and do what the supreme leader does.......lead. Put Kubiak on notice. Get this teams personnel up to snuff, and let's finally get a champion for this city!

Question.......What happened to Shane Boyd? You know, the guy that spent the entire training camp/preseason with us? Did he get picked up somewhere?

I thought about Boyd too, but I think they wanted someone with a little more experience. He looked decent in the pre-season a few times, but Boyd isn't shown on anyone roster right now. They must have just wanted more experience.

Some more analysis on the Schaub injury, from Football Outsiders injury guy Will Carroll

Quote:
While the anterior cruciate ligament gets all the attention, the medial collateral ligament might be the "it injury" in the NFL right now. Matt Schaub is the latest to injure his, costing him a month. Thought to be minor at the time of injury, Schaub's knee swelled up at halftime and ended up being a near-complete tear of the MCL. Schaub won't have surgery -- the current surgical standard is that the MCL is not replaced or even repaired unless absolutely necessary -- and after that month, there will still be some issues. A quarterback like Schaub who doesn't run is still affected by the MCL sprain in their dropback, which is essentially a lateral run, or more accurately, a carioca. If Schaub is a beat slow getting back or has trouble with his footwork in throws, it could be more than the original estimates or towards the long end.
