This draft is deep for DE and WR’s, and light on blue chip corners and OT,
so if I was GM, I would be selecting either Gardner or Stingley at 3, then taking best offensive tackle at 13.

A huge need for us is a quality center, although 13 is a little rich for Tyler Linderbaum, a trade down from 13 and selecting him in the mid-20s would make a lot of sense.

If we stay put…

3. Gardner CB
13. Penning OT
37. Jaquan Brisker S
68. Darion Kinnard IOL
80. Sam Williams DE
107. Pierre Strong RB
108. Velus Jones Jr. WR
170. Damone Clark LB
205. Cole Turner TE
207. Christopher Allen DE

Hope this draft yields quality players.

Worth saying this... especially since I was not a huge fan of his out of the gate, but the Davis Mills pick seems to have been even better when viewed in retrospect. Not only is this appearing to be a soft class for elite QB talent, the Texans have in Mills now one who has a full NFL season on his resume. And to boot, he actually flashed some impressive moments down the stretch.

Had Mills been in this 2022 draft, he arguably would have been considered at or very near the top of the class and as a potential first rounder. So if you squint a bit, it's kinda like the Texans have three firsts tonight when you add Mills.

Rumors gaining steam today...
The Texans may be looking to move up from #13. Interesting to consider this when paired with their earlier move this week to combine 6th & 7th rounders for pick #170. Taking that pick + one of their 3rds could easily be used with #13 to move up 5-6 picks tonight.

If that move doesn't materialize, then they could look to another move up to bundle a couple mid rounders with their 2nd rounder to move up, potentially as high as the back of the first round. Might be a good reason to stay up late tonight.

Looks like the Texans are already on the clock!!

“Todd McShay believes that the Jaguars will pick Georgia edge rusher Travon Walker. Whether this is because noted brain genius Trent Baalke still holds a grudge with Jim Harbaugh and refuses to draft Aidan Hutchinson because of it, who can know, but McShay states that Walker will be the first pick in the draft.

Detroit, who holds the second pick, will take the local hero Aidan Hutchinson with their pick.

That means, Texans fans, if McShay is right, and I’d like to think he is, the Texans are technically on the clock. And since the team has more holes than my socks, nobody has a real good bead on who the Texans take with the third pick. And that’s when the adventure really begins.”
