Default Official Texans vs. Ravens Game Thread, 9/20/2020

The Baltimore Ravens visit NRG stadium this Sunday in a late game on CBS. The Texans are coming off a 34-20 loss on TNF to the KC Chiefs, the Ravens are coming off a 38-6 home win over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. These two met last year in Baltimore with the Ravens handing the Texans perhaps their biggest drubbing of 2019 prevailing 41-7. Some may remember the Texans lone TD came on a Carlos Hyde 41-yard TD run halfway through the 4th qtr. To the Texans credit, they went on to win the next two games versus Indy and New England before tripping up again to the Denver Broncos. Gosh, it seems like yesterday.

Watson has something like a 10-2 record after a loss so that may be the only thing the Texan fans can pin their hopes on. The Ravens can put up points and always seems to have a good defense. As for the coaching matchup, the edge definitely goes to John Harbaugh over Bill O'Brien.

Ravens 30, Texans 24

Take the Ravens, big. Starting your year against the NFL's best two teams is an invitation to blow up the season.

I don't get it, why is an AFC city stuck with watching two NFC games ?
It's bad enough when we have to watch Dallas every week when there's atleast a half dozen other more interesting & more entertaining teams in the NFC ?

That is unusual for CBS to have a two NFC teams game. Part of the blame should go to the local channel 11. They can switch it out if they think something else will attract more viewers. I'd kinda like to see Jax vs. Tenn instead...

Absolutly the Jags vs Titans game holds far more interest for AFC South fans especially after Jacksonville upset Indy in their season opener.
Males no sense ?

Probably some New Yawk CBS exec thinking America wants to see the Giants vs. Bears. Just like ESPN thinks everyone in America is dying to see Red Sox and/or Yankees....

Did we seriously just run the same bootleg on 4th and 1 that had just been blown up on 3rd and 1?

OB decides to go for it on 4th and 1 at about the Texan 34 and the play gets blown up.

A few plays later, Jackson hits Ricard for the 1 yard TD pass.

Eeeesh, Coutee gets stripped of the ball and the Ravens take it all the way to the Texan 1 yard line. Play is under review, most likely a TD on the return....

Play ruled a TD for the Ravens.

Ravens 20, Texans 7

5:16 left in the half.

Watson throws an INT and the Ravens have the ball at the Texan 45 with 2 minutes to go in the half.

I realize they’ve played two elite teams, but with a little luck the Nexans could go into the bye 0-7. Yes, they would have to lose to the Titans and the Jags, but do you really think they can’t lose to the Jags? They’ll almost certainly lose both to the Titans. The Colts are hard to figure out. The Nexans also get the Lions, the Browns and the Bengals, but this team sucks so much that I can’t see any of those games as easy wins.

Anyway, the good news is the team’s first 2021 draft pick is in round three.

Have a nice Sunday and enjoy this latest hurricane.
