We might be grateful the Titans are now going after Manning (and his friend Steve Hutchinson) because, before that, they were planning to go after Mario Williams. Per ESPN.com:

The Titans also were preparing to make a major run at Houston Texans defensive end Mario Williams, but the organization has shifted its focus to Manning, a league source said.
