The owners have been playing a horrible game of poker thus far. I'm not a lawyer either, but it appears to me, that if they don't open up players trades and FA today, they ARE in contempt of the court order and open themsleves up to even more lawsuits. Now, it's hard to say whether Player X (Kolb, for example) would have been traded or Player Y (any FA) would have been signed, but you'd think SOME trades or FA signings would have taken place and I think the NFLPA could argue that as a loss or damages to the players.
