They can't just grab him for a 1st and a 3rd.

They can offer him a deal for a 1st and a 3rd, and then we get to decide if we want to match the deal. If we decide that market value is too high for him, then we get the 1st and 3rd when we let him walk. I am sure part of those considerations will be where the picks are located.

But it's not like a team can just go take him and give us the picks.
