Final Score:

Texans 31, Bills 10

1st time in team history Texans are at 5-3. Yay!

Couldn't ask for a better job in the 2nd half....

Nice win. If we can go 2-1 over the next four weeks, that makes us 6-4 with both Colts games out of the way. Then we can focus on getting a wild card berth.

Sort of surprised Kubiak didn't put him back on the field in the 4th qtr, once we had things in control. Could we possibly have Moats as the "feature" guy and Slaton be the 3rd down "change of pace" back? We have to get his head on straight.

Not to mention, I've got Slaton on my fantasy football team today and Beanie Wells sitting on the bench

Moats looked really dependable today and with this passing attack, dependable is all we needed.

He will. He means too much to this team as a pass catching threat, if nothing else. He just has to get his fumbling problem under control, else every defense will just rip the ball every time he carries.

No Slaton. NP.
No OD. NP.
Conclusion - we don't have to pay OD or draft high for a running back, they're
just plug-ins in this offense. On the other hand Schaub & AJ - they are mandatory pieces as is an effective OLine which looked pretty good today.
Good job in the second half by that offensive unit and the D also played well,
though the Bills offense was hardly that much of a challenge.
Great win for the Texans !

Jets 4-4. I think you have a case of the Slaton's when you type in the Jets record.

Baltimore is the only one that scares me of this group remaining. Denver, Cincy, or Baltimore is going to have to have a serious meltdown for us to have a chance.

Thank you for finally benching Slaton, he's the main reason we're 30th in rushing. I've been asking for this for weeks...

He just doesn't hit the hole like Moats does. There is no reason, IMO, to take Moats out of the starting role, unless he gets hurt or starts to get fumble prone.

Moats got an opportunity today and made the most of it, great job!!
How do you take him out with a performance like that??

Kuddos to you.

That's life SS.

I agree that you can't just sit Moats after a game like that. I hope they use Slaton more in third-down situations and use Moats more on first and second downs. I really loved how he gashed the Bills and also fought for extra yards. However, it should be noted that the Bills were losing defenders to injury all afternoon.

I take nothing from Moats. He really shocked the hell outta me. However, Slaton can't just be eliminated from the lineup.

I agree Moats really made the best of his opportunity, I think he showed he deserves to start. Player of the game, for Texans , maybe for the entire NFL today. I'm sure they will have some plays designed for SS as well, he's a playmaker we can use in the offense. Moats does hit the line hard and keep driving and knows how to hold onto the ball. Excellent.

Notice how Moats ran between Brown and Studdard all day. All 3 TD's too, I believe. Good to see the Oline finally start to do their thing in the run game.
