My vote, even though it doesn't amount to much, is give the #2 spot to Rex, keep Orvlosky around, and let him develop to be the #2 next year. Rex plays well when/if Schaub goes down, he is long gone in 2010. |

I dunno why do people keep talking about DanO as a guy who's new to the league with a lot of potential who requires patience and care to develope ?
It's not like he's a rookie or even a 2nd or third year player, this is now his 5th year in the NFL. On the other hand Grossman at 29 is on the right side of 30, and of course many QBs don't have their most productive years until they are well into their 30s. And he's just a year older than Schaub. |

I believe Rex came in and did something that our qbs are not accustomed to. That is putting the ball down field. Kyle knew that Grossman loves to air it out so he drew up some plays that fit his style.
Now if he can pick and choose the right moments to make those passes he will be an excellent back up. IMO Dan Orlavsky reminds me of David Carr. He has unending potential. He was on a horrible team I would imagine he still has a bit a shell shock. Last edited by Big Texas; 09-05-2009 at 08:25 AM. |

Just a side note, even our third string run defense is horrible.
J. Johnson 5-43 yd. C. Smith 9-43 yd. J. Freeman 3-27 yd. 17-113 yd. 6.6 ypc I hope this is not a trend for the upcoming season. I believe teams have found that we are so desperate to get to the qb now that they are just letting us come in, and just running it right up the gut on us. Or the oh so successful screen pass that has been killing us this preseason. |

Now it means nothing in a preseason game with no starters, but either way there is no reason to complain about run defense last night. |

It doesnt seem like Grossman can see anyting between 5 and 20 yards in front of him. He either dumps it or airs it.

I was not impressed with Foster as the power back to help Slaton. Now I understand why Rick Smith was focused on saying Chris Brown was already in the building. I just hope Brown stays healthy.
We seriously need Brian Cushing to become what we expected him to be when we drafted him. Hopefully, he can take half of the field from DeMeco Ryans because the other LB and the S positions are pretty bad. Right now, I'd be wanted Kevin Bentley to play the WILL. I understood the thought process of drafting Anthony Hill, but was not happy about it. After last night, I'm really not happy with that pick. If you are going to get a TE who can't catch a pass, you might as well play an extra OT. Grossman looked very poised and confident in his hometown against scrubs. If he could bottle that and sell it, he'd be making more than the league minimum. I was sure Kubiak would not be keeping 3 QBs, but now, I think 3 QBs makes more sense than 3 Long Snappers. Jacoby Jones once again makes a good impression to make the roster. It wouldn't make sense to cut him, he has some trade value. Connor Barwin - I still think he was worth a 1st round pick. Frank Okam and Shaun Cody - Should make the DL better even with the loss of Travis Johnson. If Okoye will step his game up and Antonio Smith plays to his contract, the Defense should rank higher than 23rd.
