Default It's official . . .No Manning this weekend, and maybe longer

Quote:
the Indianapolis Star. Phillip B. Watson spoke with a Los Angeles-based orthopedic surgeon about Peyton Manning’s condition, and the surgeon wasn’t very optimistic.

“The nerve was injured in some fashion, he has some weakness and now you’re waiting for that nerve to recover,” said Dr. Neel Anand, director of Orthopedic Spine Surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. ”Depending on the extent of the injury, it could take six weeks, it could take two years. And there’s no guarantee it will come back.”

This adds a whole new dimension to consider. From a Texans viewpoint, the only near certainty was that Manning wouldn’t be around for this weekend’s game – and I’m not even completely sold on that just yet. But the assumption – correct me if I’m wrong – was that he’d be likely be back for the Week 16 showdown in Indy, three days before Christmas.

between this, and jacksonville's move yesterday, the texans have no excuse if they don't win the division this year.
