Default Sirius NFL Training Camp Shpw Recap

I missed the first 20 mins of the show and the next 10-15 were stupid GB press conference. But here is the bits I took down when they put that aside and started talking about what is important. Texans Football!!!

Early in the show bit Carruci and Bandt were talking about how impressive Molden, Roberson, Brisiel, and the extreme increase in speed on def from last year.

The talked about Roberson alot, and how well they think he looked out there. Evidently he had a pick during one on one drills. I think they were both suprised by him and very intriged.

Kubes didnt say much we havnt heard from him every day for the last 2 weeks. He was asked about Molden's play and progress so far, and how much of a suprise he had been. Kubes basically said the same thing he always said. I kinda wonder if Kubes isnt getting a bit edgy about all the praise and wow's the kid is getting, because he is afraid too much could give him a fat head.

Kubes did say that because he was comming from a smaller school there was a question on how fast he would catch on and how well he would do. Then he said that he didnt think Molden knew exactly where he was at all, because he hadnt missed a beat since practices started.

Smith went though some of the camp battles, all of which we know. No big revelations here.

He talked about Brown missing time, and it giving the other backs a chance to step up. He hit on Taylor comming back and looking good, and Slaton adding speed back there. Not a word about Walker though, not even his name.

He also talked about Slaton having good hands, and working very hard on getting better at pass protection. --I kinda wonder about this to. We havnt heard much about his protection skills, and if he really is the 3rd down back that is something he will need to be good at.

Smith said he loves Barber and is extremly excited about his ability and knowledge of the game. And they are very high on Brandon.

Smith said they are happy with Diles and excited about what he can do this year. Bently is pushing him. And Adibi looks good and is probably the most athletic of all the LB's.

When they takled to Green, one of the hosts said that he looked very quick and much faster than he had over the last few years. He also told green it was a huge difference over last year at TC, where he looked like he had lost a step.

AJ said that he didnt make any personal goals for numbers this year like he usually does. He just wants to win.

Not much else, it was same old same old for the most part. Alot of ra ra speak from the players and coaches.

Thier biggest questions about the team were mentality to step up and play rather than specific holes in the roster or schemes.

Some of the comments made about Schaub towards the end of the broadcast were interesting. Last year he came into a new system, no running game, and he still had a decent year before the injuries.
