Default Training camp/Preseason not that far off

Well, it's just about 5-6 weeks till training camp starts. First preseason game is Aug 11. Not much longer to go....

I'm not a season ticket holder, but I usually buy seats for a game once a year from a guy who is. Anyway so what's the date for the Texans to distribute tickets to season ticket holders ?

It's usually in mid-July.

Father's Day weekend is usually the time when I start to get a real itch for the next season. Quiet summer this year with no CBA issues.

This is the time of year I reach for some DVDs of great games of the past, particularly cold-weather games so I can "feel" January when it is friggin hot outside. The problem is most of my favorites I've watched so many times I can almost remember what happens before they snap the ball.

Got the playoff win over the Bagels. Maybe that would be a good one to watch.

Received notification yesterday that my season tickets had been shipped, expected to arrive on Monday.

Man, talk radio can't stop talking about basketball/NBA/Rockets/Howard. I've been turning off the radio and turning on the TV... You'd think this was a one sport town....

What else is there to talk about? The Astros suck and were coming off All-Star break and there isn't anything at all going with the Texans.

Mixing in something besides basketball would be a good start. Astros get zero air time - yeah, they suck but they could talk about why they suck - I know I got plenty of gripes about the Astros...

Texans are coming off their best season ever and nothing to talk about? I expect that to change when TC starts, however.... That "Texans - All Access" program (I believe that's what they call it) that starts at noon (?) on Tuesdays on 610 is a good program... good stuff...

Analysis of Daryl Morey/Kevin McHale/Linn's game/Howard's game etc... they're just beating it to death. It's Sunday night and I just turned on the radio (610) and guess what they're talking about? Basketball! Yippee!

I know how you feel. I can't stand the Howard talk either, but there just isn't anything else going on of relevance so I can see why that storyline is getting beat to a pulp. I think what has been said about the Texans and last year along with this year's draft picks and OTA's has played its course at this point. Look at the forums here as a small example. Not much has been posted since OTA's. Like you said, it should pick up here in the next few weeks when we actually see some of the camp battles taking shape. Can't wait!!!

I recorded the Saints game from last year when I was out of town and never got around to watching it because we lost. Anyway watched it yesterday for the first time - dang, talk about a game we should have won, what a batch of blown, wasted opportunities in the red zone. But we really played very well (well for most of the game), the offense was extremely impressive and I hope that that's the Andre we see this season, he was awesome.
Anyway, it definitely got me pumped for the upcoming season.

Anyone know when the tickets for fans to attend training camp usually become available?

The front-end skew of the date range of those open practices is disappointing because it's usually atleast a few days after the start of TC before they put the pads on meaning most of the tickets basically give the fans a chance to view the Texans doing calisthenics in their shorts and T-shirts.

They should have Vegan Day where every fan in attendance gets a celery stalk autographed by Arian Foster.

At least they did not have any night time practices this year. They are just walk-throughs, yet due to most peoples work schedule they are packed.

I usually only go to the weekday practices, the weekends and nights are usually so crowded that it is not worth the effort for me.

And thank you Keith for posting the above link.

As of right now, 11:30pm Wednesday, the Friday practice is being shown as a sell out already.

I guess I am going to have to face the crowds.
