Should The Texans Go "All In" This Year?

The Texans have started 5-0 and there are only five teams in the entire AFC who are above .500 after five weeks. We have key games on the schedule at home vs. Baltimore in two weeks and on the road vs New England in December. Yet Baltimore still has a home-and-home vs Pittsburgh plus road games against the Bengals and Chargers. The Patriots have a home date in December against San Francisco and a road game at Seattle but, otherwise, a pretty easy schedule.

So, here's my question. Is this the year the Texans should try for the overall home field advantage in the AFC and, if necessary, trade future assets like draft choices and/or young prospects to fix holes like the Brian Cushing injury?

The trade deadline comes up in a few weeks and, in the NFL, the window of opportunity closes fast. So if we get offered a strong ILB or a stud DB or a fireplug DT but we have to part with a first or second next April to get him, would you make the deal or would you rather let the season play out and spend next off-season fixing holes and hoping 2013 will be the year?

It's just really tough to swing a successful in-season trade in the NFL, with the cap implications and the questions about how well and how quickly the acquired player will fit into your scheme. I'd be willing to consider giving up some draft choices for the right ILB since I think that was a position of need even before Cushing's injury, but Rick Smith doesn't need to start channelling Mike Lynn.
