IMO,
I have noticed that Slaton seems to be focusing on getting up field. However, this has been ineffective because of the inadequacies in our interior line. IMO, I think this takes away from what Slaton really is...He is a shifty scat back who can make a few people miss and go for the home run. I am aware that there is great risk in changing direction and not ALWAYS running north and south, however there is great reward, as well (ask Chris Johnson). This mentality has also become prevalent in his RAC (run after catch). There have been certain times that I noticed Slaton give up the cut outside (possible big gain) to take the 2-3 yards extra by cutting up field. Believe me I take it as a sign of maturity, but there are times when HE should just go for what he knows. Let's face it, slump or not, this guy is a home-run hitter. I know I may seem to be nit-picking, but anything to get some better run production; or production out of Slaton period. |
