Default Final Prediction: At 1-16, the Texans Select...

Much as I'd like them to trade down, they won't trade down.

Much as I'd like them to take Jaelen Strong, they won't take Jaelen Strong.

My prediction is... Bud Dupree, OLB, Kentucky.

Who's your gut say the Texans will actually do with the draft pick?

I think it will be S. Ray or Gurley.

I don't want Armstead or Perriman.

I think they'll go OLB so I'll say Vic Beasley. I've seen him all over the place in mocks but never to the Texans that I can remember.

One of the top 3 WR's, according to the talking heads at least, will fall to 16 and be selected. My guess is either White or Parker.

If Beasley is there, that'll be my hope at this point, with Bud Dupree next since I think OLB is the biggest need (BPA, yeah right).

If they take a RB or WR I may just shut it down for the night. I think all this WR talk is that the Texans might take one in the 2nd or consider a move down in the 1st and/or a move up in the 2nd to get the WR that drops.

That's the way I see if, but who knows. I'll be watching.

With the exception of just a few years, seems to me, the Texans always manage to throw a curve ball. Sometimes that works out and sometimes it doesn't.....

I don't see how Beasley, Cooper, or White falls to us. I think Dupree is also off the board. I am used to taking someone I don't want so Landon Collins or Shane Ray makes sense. I am a fan of Melvin Gordon, but think it's not a priority. A CB like Kevin Johnson makes sense with JoJo's contract. I am okay with Perriman, Dorsett, or Devin Smith - though they might find similar talent in the 2nd round. But I am hopeful that Stephone Anthony is the 2nd round pick. I am also thinking if things shake out, Eli Harold makes the most sense.

And. ...we went with Kevin Johnson. I understand, but not thrilled.

Typical Texans pick - like you couldn't move down for this?

I was like the Budweiser frog going "Bud...Bud...Bud..." I thought, if not Bud then definitely Landon Collins. But, no, a corner from an ACC school.

So, who is now going to be called "KJ" in the Texans' secondary?

At least we didn't draft Dropsy Perriman. I would have thrown a brick if that had happened.

The Steelers take Bud Dupree. Excellent pick at #22.

I thought it was a sure thing. Granted I wanted Eli Harold but Dupree would have been pretty darn good.
