Default Four [Now Five!] Texans Make the Pro Bowl

AJ - No brainer
Brian Cushing - WOW - What a Rook!
Demeco Ryans - Nice recognition for a hard nose leader. SIGN HIM LONG TERM!
Mario Williams - I am a little surpised by this one. He has been a force against the run, but I didn't think he would have the sack numbers to get in.

Haven't seen the alternates yet, but I would guess Schaub HAS to be on a short list.

Looks like you got in a couple minutes before me, but it's great news except for the absense of Schaub.

Man i think Daniels was having the best TE season before he got injured. He could have been on that list as well. It sucks that Schaub didnt make it though. I knew it was going to be between Matt and Brady for the last spot. Eventually the more popular player had to get in.

Congrats to the four of them. And it wouldn't shock me if Schaub joins them, particularly if Manning goes to the Super Bowl.

If I read correctly, the Pro Bowl is going through some major changes this year. It is being played the week *before* the Super Bowl instead of the week after which means players participating in the Super Bowl will probably opt out and players participating in the conference championship games will likely sit too because they won't be in the mood to play a meaningless exhibition just after such an important game.

The Pro Bowl is also going to be held in Florida this year instead of Hawaii, which could lead to more defections. The dirty little secret is that more players would choose not to go to the Pro Bowl were it not for wives/girlfriends reading them the riot act if they even *think* about passing up a paid vacation in Hawaii for *her*. Florida in January won't carry the same pizzazz. Apparently, the NFL is trying this to fill the void during the off week leading up to the Super Bowl and to somehow make the game more relevant (which it won't).

At least Goodell isn't doing something stupid like making the winner of the Pro Bowl the home team for the Super Bowl.

Four pro-bowlers, that's starting to be recognized as skill players on the team.

Congrats to the 4 selections - Demeco, Cushing, Mario, and AJ,

plus the 3 alternates - Schaub, Leach, and Jacoby.

All well deserved, I hope Pollard gets selected as well.

Congrats to our playmakers. OD could've easily made this list as well- as others have mentioned. I look forward to the day that we can have a young corner make this list.

Now our Pro bowlers are gonna have to step up against NE. Lets Go!!

Tom Brady has bowed out of the Pro Bowl, meaning Matt Schuab is officially on the AFC roster.

Now maybe some of the critics can shut up. Schaub has shown he is a top QB, and he did this with no running game.

Vince Young has now been named as an injury replacement as well. Sorta tarnishes it, right?

VY made it in only after Rivers bowed out for injury, Roethlisberger said no due to injury, and Carson Palmer passed because of injury as well.

If Manning wins this Sunday, then Schaub probably becomes your Pro Bowl starter.

When Kyle Orton gets named to the Pro Bowl, you'll know about half the AFC quarterbacks turned it down first.

Orton would have made more sense than VY.

Texans linebacker Brian Cushing will not play in the 2010 Pro Bowl. The 2009 AP NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year withdrew from from the game on Friday due to lingering injuries.

Good deal ! I wish the rest of the Texans would also get out of a meaningless
game where they would risk injury or further injury as Cushing is obviously concerned about. I say get well and ready to go in 2010.

Cushing probably will spend about a month in his peapod now.
