I'm mulling over a pretty big trade in one of my leagues and I'd like to get you guys' opinion on it. I'm running it through the FBG Rate-My-Team app and it says that it makes my team worse, but I don't know that I agree.

The league is a PPR, dynasty league with standard scoring.

My current roster exists as such:

Now, I'm mulling over this trade proposal. Obviously it hasn't been accepted yet, and might not be. But, I'd like to be sure that it improves my team before I offer it.

I'd be offering:
JaMarcus Russell, DeAngelo Williams, and Reggie Wayne for Matt Schaub, Adrian Peterson, and a 2010 2nd round pick

Obviously it's going to hurt to trade a #1 WR and RB for a #1 RB. But, I feel that AD will be a legit top 3 RB for the next several years. DeAngelo has the question of Jonathan Stewart hanging over his head, and Reggie Wayne has the issues of age and coaching changes.

On the flip side, Wayne's been a sure-fire #1 WR for the past few years and is a nice pairing with AJ. And, AD is an injury risk that might end up hurting me.

Obviously, Schaub would be a nice addition to the trade and is a big point earner when he's on the field. He earned more PPG than AJ did last season in my league. And, the guy who has him also has Eli and McNabb so he might not be too adverse to dealing him.

So, do you guys think this trade would make my team better?

What are your starters/flex requirements? And less importantly, how many teams are in your league? How many can you protect year-over-year?

I don't think the app is good for evaluating dynasty trades (just redrafts), and I imagine the hangup it has is that you'd essentially be losing a quality starter at WR in the short-term in this trade.

That said, I would make the offer. I would be interested to know what WRs your partner has though, as I might prefer a younger, somewhat unproven WR instead of a 2nd rounder next year.

AD is just about two full years younger than DeAngelo. That is a big advantage here. Plus, I'd worry that you'd be without a good starting QB without Schaub. I paired Schaub and Garrard last year, which worked okay even with Schaub hurt a lot.

The reason I am asking for a 2nd rounder is because I lost mine in a previous trade. But, I wouldn't be opposed to replacing that pick with a player instead; do you think there's fair value in one of his WR?

Also, I kind of punted the QB position by trading away Cutler. But, I think Schaub is underrated and I think it could be a real steal taking Schaub away from this guy who's already pretty stacked at QB. I think getting him would be a big help to me and be negligible loss to my partner.

I'm going to guess that your partner probably doesn't place a real high value on Russell relative to Schaub. While many underrate Schaub, I'm guessing his current owners are well aware of what he is capable of doing in this offense... just saying since I think trying to pull a good WR from the other team could be tough because of that.

That said, in a start-2WR league with a flex, adding Wayne to Welker with Bryant in reserve ought to be pretty tempting in a PPR. I'd make a play for either Walter or Nelson in lieu of that 2nd rounder, though Walter has some risk since this is a contract year for him, plus you already have Angry Dre... so maybe Nelson then. Yeah. Walter is a far better value this season, but you'd already be Texans heavy with Schaub and Dre, so go for Nelson. Walter probably has better value this year, but it's already a bit risky to have your QB1 and WR1 on the same roster. I'd take Nelson over a 2nd because (a) you need a WR and (b) Nelson has 2nd round value with a year already under his belt. It's a crowded sitch there in Green Bay (and honestly, I like James Jones there more), but Nelson seems like a safer gamble than a 2nd.

Jarrett is waiver wire material in a 25-man roster in a 12-team league, but I have him in one of my leagues with a similar set-up taking the last spot on my roster. Got him cheap, he has the skills to produce in PPR... not a bad stash if you have the roster spot to kill imo.

I guess fate sometimes determine whether trades should be made or not.

I still want Schaub too. Maybe I'll try and target Hasslebeck next, though his owner's roster isn't as easy to work with for me.
