Default Official Texans @ Bears Game Thread, 12/13/2020

In Week 14, the 4-8 Houston Texans are headed to Chicago to take on the 5-7 Bears in an early game on CBS. The Texans are coming off a 26-20 home loss to the Indianapolis Colts while the Bears lost 34-30 at home last week to the Detroit Lions. The Lions scored two 4th qtr TDs to eke out the win. Chicago has now lost 6 in a row. Seems as though QB Mitchell Trubisky will start although QB Nick Foles may be able to play if needed. RB David Montgomery is the top Chicago running back with 647 yards. Allen Robinson II is the top receiver with 904 yards. Other targets will be WRs Anthony Miller, Darnell Mooney and TE Jimmy Graham. The Chicago defense is 17th vs. the pass and 17th vs. the run (yards allowed/game).

Watson coming off a loss? I like the Texans here:

Texans 28, Bears 22

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

TV = CBS (channel 11 local), noon CST, Sunday, Dec. 13, 2020

Announcers = Kevin Harlan, Trent Green

The line = Texans favored pickem to 1½

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Other Sunday viewing in the Houston area:

FOX (early) = Dallas @ Cincinnati, Kevin Kugler, Chris Spielman

FOX (late) = New Orleans @ Philadelphia, Kevin Burkhardt, Daryl Johnston

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Prime time:

TNF = New England @ LA Rams (FOX/NFLN)

SNF = Pittsburgh @ Buffalo (NBC)

MNF = Baltimore @ Cleveland (ESPN)

Weather.com forecast calls for 34-degree weather in Chicago with 8 mph winds and 10% precip. David Carr once beat the Bears in worse weather than this. Texans will rest on the "No More Tears" rushing attack of Johnson and Johnson.

I predict some clanking goalposts.

Did Procise seriously just run out of bounds on 3rd and long to save the Bears a timeout? That is one of the more clueless and gutless plays I've ever seen. RBs are basically free to acquire in the modern NFL, we have paid more for them than anyone, and we have nothing at the position. It's pathetic.

Son of a Mitch. The Bears, of all people, hang up 30 on us in the first half.

Watson runs one in from 3 yards but play is under review....

Ruled a little short.

On 3rd down, Watson throws it away and gets crushed. 4th and 1 coming up from the 1....

McCarron in.

And he gets sacked. Bears takeover on downs.

2:07 left in the 3rd.

Miserable.

Today's game is a great argument for simply taking a knee the rest of the season. Namely to protect Deshaun Watson's knees.

The one snap to McCarron was all the reminder anyone needs to what life is like without Watson.

Early line has the Colts as a 7 to 8½ pt favorite over the Texans next Sunday. Game is in Indy.

----------------------------------------------------

The Texans final three games - Indy, Cincinatti, Tennessee - are all on CBS. Locast was dreadful today with the nag messages. Hopefully, CBS can get something worked out soon. Live streams on computer were running around 2 or 3 minutes behind live action.....

Jeez what a brutal game to watch. Well we went from what 10 or 11 wins last year to this.
Thanks O'Brien, so lets please bring on the new GM and coach and put this crap behind us.

I stopped watching before halftime. Went to old Law and Order reruns instead of that painful sh$t. I agree with nunusguy, lets get this behind us and move on. Hopefully they get a legitimate GM, but past hires point to that not happening.
