Default Texans take a flier on OT Matt Kalil

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...le-matt-kalil/

Will be interesting to see how much they gave him. I would not be shocked if he doesn't make the final squad...but at least they signed a LT...

With the signing of Kalil, does that mean that Penn has been moved on from? Why not sign both and let them compete?

I only caught the tail end of the conversation while running to lunch today, but one of the In the Loop guys on 610 said that he reached out to Antonio Smith and Smith said Penn was VERY interested in coming here. The tone of what they were saying was that the Texans chose Kalil over Penn.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And if you need depth and improved quality, sign both! Competition is a lie. They don't want competition.

$2.25 million signing bonus to Kalil. Seems a bit odd the Texans went in this direction over Penn.
