Default Here's a Little Ray Of Sunshine

While the Texans are technically tied for the division lead, they are looking good in terms of an early wild card race. Houston is 3-0 in games against the AFC. While the loser of the AFC East race between the Jets and Patriots would each have one conference loss, every other team in the conference that doesn't currently lead their division has at least two conference losses.

AFC Conference records through six weeks:
Houston 3-0
NY Jets 4-1
New England 4-1
Pittsburgh 2-1
Baltimore 4-2
Jacksonville 3-2
Tennessee 2-2
Indianapolis 2-2
Kansas City 2-2
Miami 1-2
Cincinnati 1-2
Oakland 1-2
San Diego 1-2
Cleveland 1-3
Denver 1-4
Buffalo 0-4

Besides their five remaining division games, the other conference opponents for the Texans are San Diego (wk 9), @NY Jets (wk 11), Baltimore (wk 14), @Denver (wk 16).

If they take care of business in the division - minimum 4-2 - they should be in pretty good shape. That way they only need a couple or 3 W's among Chargers, Jets, Eagles, Ravens and Broncos....

Yes, but nary a one of these opponents is a pushover. Last year at about this time the D was finally beginning to gell. However, this year there seems to be something organicly wrong, to say nothing of all the injuries. I am already beginning to fear for our being in the playoff picture.

One good sign against KC which runs the 3-4 defense was our OL seemed to play pretty good.

And , finally, in the fourth quarter, Matt Schaub led team to four scores in a row and thereby won NFL offensive player of the week. So hope he can keep that focus. I do think AJ looked a lot better and JJ being back helped a lot from way Schaub looked previous weeks, when those guys were injured.

Now, I look forward to our defense improving, be positive. Week off, get mended bones and muscles, decide to play as a team, gotta help.

Just get everybody well and work on doing a better job of covering on defense, and maybe a little better passrush up the middle, would do wonders IMOG.
