Time marches on and the 4-3 Texans will host the 4-3 Detroit Lions Sunday in an early game on FOX. The Lions are coming off a 20-17 victory over the Redskins. The Lions have won three in a row (Philly, LA and Was.). Combined win differential of those three is just 7 pts. All seven of Detroit's games played have been decided by 7 pts. or less. QB Matthew Stafford is having a very good year - 68.1% comp, 1914 yards, 15 TDs, 4 INTs, 105.7 rating. The Lion's offense doesn't rush all that much (24th) but they are good in the passing game (12th). Stafford's favorite targets are Marvin Jones (623 yds), Golden Tate (392 yds), Anquan Boldin (272 yds), Eric Ebron (210 yds) and Theo Riddick (190 yds).
The Texans should be in rebound mode after losing to the Denver Broncos 27-9 on MNF. Head coach Bill O'Brien and QB Brock Osweiler will look to get the Texan's struggling and misfiring offense on track before the Texan's bye week. ----------------------------------------------------------------- TV = FOX (channel 26 local), Sunday, noon CST, 10/30/2016 Announcers = Chris Myers, Ronde Barber The line = Texans by 1 to 2.5 pts. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Other Sunday viewing in the Houston area: FOX early bird special from London = Washington vs Cincinnati (Kenny Albert, John Lynch), 8:30 am CST FOX (late) = Green Bay @ Atlanta, Thom Brennaman, Troy Aikman CBS (late) = San Diego @ Denver, Greg Gumbel, Trent Green ----------------------------------------------------------------- Prime time: TNF = Jacksonville @ Tennessee (NFLN) SNF = Philadelphia @ Dallas (NBC) MNF = Minnesota @ Chicago (ESPN) |
