My guess is the team feels like they've had an adequate opportunity to see those guys already and would rather give some other players an up-close look. A while back I compared the number of players who were on the practice squad and roster in the first couple years of the Kubiak/Smith regime to the last couple years under Capers/Casserly and found the current guys were much more active in turning over those practice squad and bottom-of-the-roster spots, even after injury replacements were accounted for.

I like the idea of a lot of turnover. I think if you sign a guy and try coaching him up, you probably get a pretty good idea of who is going to improve and who isn't. The ones who don't seem to be going to the next level should be let go to try some others.
