The 1-6-1 Texans hit the road to take on the 6-2 New York Giants in an early game Sunday on CBS. The Giants are coming off a 27-13 road loss to the Seahawks, the Texans are coming off a 29-17 home loss to the Eagles on TNF.
Quarterbacking the Giants is Daniel Jones (143/220, 65% comp, 174.9 yds/gm, 6 TDs, 2 INTs, 88.0 rating). Top rusher is Saquon Barkley - 779 yds, 4.8 avg, 97.4 avg/gm. Jones himself has 363 yards rushing. The top receivers are WR Darius Slayton (232 yards, 14.5 avg) and WR Richie James (191 yards, 9.6 avg.). Barkley also has 189 yards receiving. The Giants defense is rated 3rd in the league vs. passing (6.3 yds/att) and 23rd vs. the rush (4.9 ypc).
The Texans might be able to run on these guys. The Texan defense is concerning - their finest hour so far was when they held the Jags to 6 pts a month ago. At least LB Christian Harris is in the fold and getting some playing time. There is a buzz that the Giants may be overrated and not as good as their record indicates. Guess we'll find out....
