I'm overall pretty happy about the draft. Some people are calling Brown a reach, but I think that depends on how the Texans had him graded. We'll see how it works out, but the fact that we traded down and still got a guy that should be a fit for our scheme and picked up a couple of extra picks is outstanding in my book...even if I'm not completely convinced that Brown is going to be able to step in right away. Salaam has been a tackle in this league for a long time and I think Gibbs record speaks for itself.... If Brown's smart, he'll be able to tell us what shade of brown they're turds are. I'm actually OK if he's not starting on opening day. My preference is that he is a total stud who starts every Texans game for the next ten years+ on the way to the hall of fame with some Super Bowl Rings in tow, but Salaam played well last year...and I would rather him sit part of the season and work him in slowly than end up with a shell shocked player who got sent out there too early.

As for the rest of the draft-

I like Molden. I heard Hoke pushed for him the same way he pushed for Bennet last year, and that the biggest difference between him and DRC was that DRC got to play in the senior bowl. That may not be true, but this sounds like a player that can help hold the fort until Dunta is back.

I wasn't crazy about Slaton, but he's growing on me. As long as we don't get into a situation where we are forced into him being the guy I think he can play an important role as a change of pace type guy. Of course with our RB's it's very likely that we get to the bottom of the depth chart because of injury at some point this season.

Adibi- I really like this pick. I seem to remember him impressing me in one game this year, but I can't remember specifics...so I could be excited for no reason. He sounds like a player that could be groomed to replace Greenwood in a year or two. I know some people don't like Greenwood, but anyone who has had as long a career as Greenwood has some knowledge to pass on and Adibi should latch on to him. I think he could be great on kick coverage this year and should see the field some in certain packages.

Okam-This is great pick at this point. Okam could be a monster in the middle. I've said that Travis J had a great year, and I believe that, but it can't hurt to have a guy like Okam if he plays to his potential...if he doesn't its not that big of a loss. We could have a great rotation at DT. I know most people want to see first round picks on the field, but rotating Okoye and Johnson in and out depending on the situation should keep them all fresh and more effective. Call me extremely intrigued....assuming Okam comes ready to work.

Barber-I really have no opinion. sounds like he's good in run support, but slow and struggles in coverage. I'll have to see him before I can really have an opinion. From what I've read it might be hard for him to make the team as anything other than practice squad material.

Brink-Kubiak's QB project on the practice squad.

For now I give it a B+. We will have to see how it plays out, but now I'm really ready for football to start going.

When you consider that we got Myers for a sixth, as Mike pointed out, this is a really well played draft.
