I think CJ is salvageable so he can be paired with Hooper or Higbee or whomever. Hey, we do so many of these mocks that we don't explain some of our thinking. In general, I just take one player per position based on the severity of need and the scarcity of good options. Sometimes, what you want just isn't there and it changes the equation.
In general, my draft plan falls this way:
1) Best LT or DE/DT that could fit our scheme.
2) Ryan Kelly or Nick Martin for center.
3) One of a few top guards, particularly if the centers aren't there.
4) A TE that creates mismatches due to height or speed.
5) Increasing depth at RB and/or WR.
6) A strong safety that tackles well.
7) Better depth at ILB.
8) A second D-lineman.
But the exact order is fluid based on which positions are disappearing. Sometimes I pick a player in the 3rd because he's the one good guy at that position then take a guy in the 4th I really think is a better player but there were alternative options if he fell off the board.
All I know for sure is that the Texans will prioritize entirely differently than I would.
