Ya, I think I remember that season with the Oilers. What'd they go, something like 10-4 (14 game seasons back then) and missed the playoffs?
The thing about division wins is you get the tiebreak in the tie scenarios and for a team that is behind in the standings (like the Texans), you can make major leaps in the head-to-head competitions..... Colts currently have a 3 game lead but if we were able to beat them twice, that lead becomes only one game.....
It's grim but I'm in the "it's not over till it's over" school. Until they're mathematically eliminated, there is some hope....... And even if/when they become mathematically eliminated, the Texans will try to win as many as they can - it's what they've always done. Tanking just to get a higher draft pick is not their way.....
