Yeah, the way the Shanahans tossed Beck aside after seeing him in this offense, despite being such big believers in him last summer, isn’t exactly a ringing endorsement:

Big Shan on Beck and Rex Grossman in July: “I believe in the guys. I’ve been doing this for a long time, and I’m putting my reputation on these guys that they can play.”

Lil Shan in August: "My first year as a position coach in the league, Houston had me scout all the quarterbacks coming out that year. That was the JaMarcus Russell year, with Brady Quinn, Trent Edwards, Kevin Kolb and Beck. So they asked me who I'd pick if I had the 10th pick in the draft. I told them Beck. They said he's not worth the 10th pick in the draft. I was standing on the table for him. I've never seen a guy play that well in college.''

Beck was beaten out by Grossman for the Redskins’ starting job but was given a shot a few games into the season. After three starts he was yanked and didn’t play again even though the Redskins were going nowhere and Grossman was playing like… Rex Grossman. Then Shanahan re-signed Grossman, gave up a boatload of top picks to move up for RG3, took another QB (Kirk Cousins) in the fourth round, and cut Beck.

I'm all for bringing in a guy who may have talent on the cheap and seeing if they can get something out of him, but he shouldn't be any better of a fit in this offense than he was in Washington, and presumably the Shanahans coach QBs very similarly to how Kubiak does it. Who knows, but I don't expect him to be anything more than the needed camp arm and guy to finish out the preeason games.
