Agree with pretty much everything you're saying but I think it is even simplier than that. To me, I don't need to see anything more than how the Texans play on Sunday to let me know he's not a very good head coach. We are predictable, unprepared, and unmotivated on way too many occasions. Then there are the in-game screwups. In the first couple of years, all of his botched clock management, bizarre calls, poor challenges, etc. were explained away as part of his "learning curve" as a first time head coach. However, it's 5 years later and he still does all of the same things. He's just not cut out to be a head coach. In my opinion, he's simply not bright enough to take in and process all the information a head coach has to and then make a split second decision on it. He then doubles down on this by being stubborn and resistant to delegate or involve anyone outside his comfort zone. In short, he wants to be Belichick and run the entire show but he simply doesn't have Belichick's mind.

As an example, check out Peter King's MMQB this week. It talks about Rex Ryan's preparation for the Patriots game. He basically told all of his coaches and even the players to independently try and come up with a defensive strategy to stop the Pats. After everyone independently brainstormed, they all got together and then analyzed as a group what might work and what wouldn't. They ended up using all kinds of new wrinkles on Sunday that came from all different people, including some backup players. I can't even imagine Kubiak standing up at a post-game press conference and giving an answer like this.
