I called in to one of the radio shows this week (couldn't tell you which one), because I'd heard a good 4 callers in a row bitching and moaning about how they'd been season ticket holders for 4, 5, 7 years and were tired of losing, but all said that they were renewing their tickets for next year. This was my first year to have season tickets, and if this vote of confidence can be taken at face value, it was also my last. I told them I'll still watch the games on tv at the pub, I'll wear my gear (it's really a substantial chunk of my wardrobe), but I won't spend one red cent on the team until I feel the organization is handling its business, and I was both lambasted and lauded. Chuck's right. We don't deserve any better, because the bottom line doesn't change. I was appalled at MNF in the first half. It was as if we were on offense the entire time. There were honestly multiple moments on defense when I was literally the ONLY one IN MY ENTIRE SECTION making any noise whatsoever. Our fans blow, our coach can't gameplan his way into spring break pussy (easiest thing I could think of), and the owner thinks at 5-8 he's doing a great job. I love my team, but I must've been a rapist or a murderer or whoever the guy is that invented the stage musical in a past life to deserve this shit.
And so it is, I'll still run my mouth in my gear at the sports bar; I'm still gonna tivo and archive every game we play; I'm not taking off the Texans stickers on my battle red truck (well, it's close); but I'm absolutely not giving the organization another dime of my hard earned cash without legitimate changes coming down. Period. That's that.
