this applies to more than you would think. i marched a drum corp for 3 years and we would usually practice in 3 blocks: morning, afternoon, and night if there wasn't a show. mornings were the grind, afternoons were too hot to spend just baking under the sun so we usually found shade to keep practicing, and back out for the evening sun. in high school we had several days per season where the state shut down after school activities (band, football, etc. but probably not in that order haha) because it got too hot.

anybody who knows anything about houston knows that humidity is the real killer. dry hots aren't exactly fun but everyday as soon as i step outside i feel like i just jumped into one of those little-kid-plastic-ball rooms: uncomfortably warm and borderline wet.

does anybody else have a car temperature gauge? i know mine is f-ed up because when i get in it always says "109" until about 15 minutes into the drive it starts to fall.
