I dunno I wonder if Cushing is finally excited about being drafted by Houston ?
My recollection is very good of the genuine excitement of other first round picks by the Texans including AJ, D-Rob (wow - have things changed with him lately), and Duane Brown just a year ago and that was not the kind of positive reaction demonstrated by Cushing & his family in the "green room" on Draft day to the phone call by the Texans and the announcement of the pick.
He wouldn't be the first USC prima donna who behaved badly when he didn't get his way in the Draft, the important thing is to see what he makes of his opportunity in Houston now that he's here.
Can't help but wonder if he has any idea how lucky he is, especially in this economy ? My wife went to College Station Friday to attend the graduation of her grandson who got his engineering degree after 4-5 years of working his nuttz off and he has no idea if he's gonna get a job anytime soon in this recession ? And this kid from USC is gonna make how many millions for playing football in college 4-5 years ?

I dunno, I prefer to give him the benefit of the doubt. People act differently under stressful situations. I watched the draft and maybe he was feeling relief - sort of relief without joy. Relief that all the buildup and anxiety was finally over. Kubiak mentioned later that he (Cushing) was "all business". I've seen some of his recent videos over at chron.com and he seems like he's genuinely enthused and wants to learn the system ASAP.... We'll see.... People are commenting about how much taller he is than the typical Texan linebacker... I'd love to see him make an impact/become a game-changer...
