This is a blow to the secondary. Hopefully Dom Barber can get ready and eliminate his mistakes.

Ouch, Eugene Wilson defintely helped our secondary. Someone's gotta step it up big time, especially against the Colts.

I actually like Brian Russell. 6'2 210 out in his 8th year out of SanDiego State.

He has averaged about 50 tackles a year and at one point in his career he posted 9 interceptions. He has started almost every game of his career. He was cut back Jacksonville with Reggie Nelson holding down that position. I wonder how he will be used with DBarber (who sucks by the way) and Busing. Maybe he's just a slot filler.

Bummer. He and Bernard made a pretty good combo back there. As stated, I hope Barber has his act together, as I don't have alot of confidence in Busing.

Ugh. Such great news. You know, we haven't had enough great news the last three weeks!

I can't remember the amount of negative things I've read from Seahawks fans on Football Outsiders during the two years he spent there. Horrible in coverage and possibly the worst tackling player in the league from what I've heard. His only value is his intelligence at putting other players in the right spot but its far outweighed by his negatives. I'm not sanguine with Barber, but I can't imagine he'd be any worse.

My point exactly. I like the fact that they did not just stick with what they had. That would be giving me the impression that they thought Barber was enough.

As far as the Seattle fans, I am not concerned with that at all. After all, KC obviously thought Pollard was not good enough. He has worked out for us so far. I hope we can get a stroke of good luck twice.

Ironically, I remember the exact same message from KC fans who couldn't believe they ditched one of the best young players on their defense. I am glad they didn't stand pat, but I doubt Russell's going to be much good even as roster filler. Oh well; hopefully it won't come to us needing him more.

He had a few good years, one with 9 interceptions, over 100 tackles at Minnesota. Looks like the Seattle contract wasn't really a good deal for him either. And getting older, so we'll see.
