Weather for Buffalo is significantly better

The latest forecast for Buffalo now shows the following conditions:

Temperature of 49 degrees at game time, rising to 50 degrees.

East winds of 11 mph moving to south

30 percent chance of rain

Obviously the big news here is that the winds no longer look like a significant threat which should benefit our air attack.

The Chronic/McClain's thoughts

Quote:

In his 26-year career as an NFL player and coach, Kubiak has made enough trips to Orchard Park, N.Y. to understand how hazardous the wind can be and what effect it can have on strategy and the outcome of a game.

Once they see what kind of havoc — if any — the wind will cause, Kubiak and offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan have to determine what strategy they're going to use.

Aaargh. I'm still hearing people talk about the wind in Buffalo for the game this weekend. The forecast now calls for 8 mph winds at game time.

It's the "lake effect". Comes off of one of the Great Lakes that Buffalo is situated on (can't remember which one, and too lazy to look up). Weather up there can change on a dime and wreak havoc. Whether it is crazy wind, or lake effect snow, it springs up quickly and can be a drastic change.

It didnt seem to slow down Jim Kelly. I think its much adue about nothing. Unless its up in the 20's (mph) we'll be fine.
