Jared Allen - You Reap What You Sow

From the guy who went low on Schaub twice in one game to injure him:

Quote:

DETROIT -- Tempers flared after Detroit rookie offensive tackle Gosder Cherilus lunged from his knees to hit Minnesota defensive end Jared
Allen slowly got off the turf in the second quarter and angrily limped toward Cherilus, pointing and screaming, before teammate Ray Edwards held him back.

"Obviously I was pretty upset," Allen said Sunday after Minnesota beat Detroit 20-16. "Stuff happens. I take care of it on the field."

Allen went to the sideline, where his left knee was examined.

"The knees are a sacred thing in this league,"
Allen said.

I thought it was hilarious to see him go ape shit when somebody went at his knees. I don't wish an injury on anybody, but that was some good stuff.

The great thing was that it was part of the actual play and not afterwards. It didn't draw a flag because the hit on Allen was entirely legal. Allen was running along the line of scrimmage on a rollout away from his side of the field when the blocker peeled back and cut his legs. At the LOS, anything goes as long as you aren't hitting someone low when they are already being blocked by somebody up high. Allen was unblocked. Perfectly legal and Allen goes crazy.

But dive at a QB's knees after the pass is thrown and the QB is pulling up - clearly a cheap shot. Apparently Allen and a lot of Viqueen fans don''t understand the difference.

I thought it was very similar to one of the shots he got on Schaub...guy on the ground lunging for whatever he could. I loved the "knees are sacred" line.

Video here

After the commercial, it's the first play they show. On the next play, ex-Texan and Detroit FB Moran Norris gets ejected for throwing a punch at Minnesota's Harris.
