Texans vs Dolphins NFLN tonight

For those of you like me that forgot to DVR the game, it will be replayed tonight at 7:00 on the NFL network.

KJ3 10-14-2008 12:23 PM

how are they going to spread out that "wildcat" double fake pass deal for 2 hours? everyone knows you can't show highlights of the texans...

sigh...i wish i had the nfln

gunslinger57 10-14-2008 07:17 PM

Thanks for the notice. Missed the rinky-dink high school Wildcat TD, but I'll catch the most important parts of the game.

I have a hard time watching a Texans game, even in replay mode. Brown got schooled by Porter. AJ is dropping a few easy ones, fumbling one into the endzone, and then making a whiz bang reception when the chips were really down. And to make my roller coaster viewing really upside down, Eugene Wilson makes an int., then fumbles it right back. I hate those ding blasted turn overs.

If you ever want to see the text book definition of overrated, go to the 4th quarter of the game. At the 1:47 mark, watch Mario completely blow it.

Overrated!!!! You must not get the games. Travis Johnson jerseys will be on sale for $15 at the end of the season. He won't be resigned unless it's for $20 and a six pack.

can we say overreacting? he has 6 sacks in 5 games, and he is pretty much the only person on the line the offenses worry about.

coloradodude 10-18-2008 09:37 PM

Sad really when we've come to this. We have to pump up someone because we're 1 and 4. On one of the sacks Mario got against Miami, I guess they had to gameplan for him and all, the entire pocket collapsed on 3 fronts with Okoye wrapped up on the QB.

Don't forget, the ends will always get the glory but it's the push in the middle that screws up an O line's play. I'd like to see Bulman get 6 to 8 sacks this year and you guys would still want to hold Mario's jock. Now let's get back to the play.

He did not get juked. No fancy move by some fast, squirrelly guy. He choked. Game was on the line and he choked. #1 pick inthe draft and had an open field tackle to make...the basics. Didn't see him stand up and do his little dance moves though did we?

what a ridiculous rant. Your theory is that Mario is the beneficiary of the great interior line play??? You are actually going to float that one out there???

Troll hard or don't troll at all.

coloradodude 10-19-2008 02:32 AM

Troll? Go grab some coffee loser.

You have a mancrush on mario, that's fine. But if he's so great then why do we even put other players on the line? Evidentally the other teams look at our entire D line as meaningless and only your boyfriend is the one to look out for.

One thing to watch in the coming games is the amount of times the interior line is double teamed, especially compared to mario. While I'll agree that they are not great they are having their moments and those moments allow you to cheer for your name brand player while the other part of the TEAM is wreaking havoc.

Troll...you should be a cowboy fan. Smoke it.

Most sacks since 10/1/07 according to the chronicle. One of our few bright spots. Why don't you jump off the wagon, and jump on the bandwagon when it turns.

Whoa buddy. I was never a fan of mario when he was drafted but give credit where credit is do. Has anyone heard from Weaver lately:). If the interior is holding up so well why is Weaver not excelling as your logic suggests. Or are they doubling him too.

Sometimes the move to the qb may not be all that "PRETTY" but its about having that non stop motor to get to the qb.

So when your "precious interior lineman" (whom have combined for 26/354 tackles and 0 sacks) have gotten tired and eased up on the play Mario is falling on the ground crawling after the qb.

I am not in anyway indicating that Mario is the best End in the league but after only 3 years in the league he is in the top 5-10.

I assume you're referring to the Ron Brown TD at the end??? If Mario makes that play, we lose. Miami falls on the ball and runs the clock down then kicks a game winning FG. Actually, I'm surprised Brown just didn't just go down rather than score. That would have been the smart thing to do. I could be wrong, but it almost looked like an intentional whiff to me.

NBT 10-19-2008 02:40 PM

My, my, CD really has it in for mario doesn't he?

Seriously. Your first post was great trolling. A wild and unsupported statement aimed at getting a rise out of everyone. But then in the 2nd post you blow it by trying to make up facts about our great interior line. You should have kept to unsupported arguments when bashing him.

coloradodude 10-19-2008 10:00 PM

Well, I like to continue arguing whether or not Mario is overrated. But we have two truths here. Mario is a pass rusher not a run stuffer. He doesn't even slow a RB down. I should be grateful that we have him but I've watched him be taken out of so many running plays that I'm blown away. This cause frustration to me probably due to how much money he gets. But he does cause one side of the line to be attacked.

The other truth is that my Texans STILL suck. We had the ball for 40 minutes compared to Detroit's 19 minutes today. We sacked the QB twice, once by a LB and the other by my boy Bulman (who makes $10 an hour to play DE) so we either lack talent OR coaching.

Now we go back to my statement earlier about Mario being overrated. Since I didn't get to see the game but have read quite abit already, I ask, was he double teamed all day? He sucks at the run game but is best in the pass rush and still got zero sacks.

And barrett, I don't think we have a "great" interior line. We have a decent enough line to demand double teaming on a regular basis. Also, I'm not trying to get a rise out of anyone, just stating what I think.

BTW, Richard Smith needs to get canned...you getting a "rise" out of that one?

I guess it's not your fault. You've watched so many Broncos games you don't know what a good DL is anymore.
