Bye week in Texanville

While the Texans try to figure out what's going on, the rest of the NFL will continue to soldier on this weekend. Nothing like a good televised football game with 10K fans screaming through their masks, right?

----------------------------------------------

Sunday viewing in the Houston area:

CBS (early) = Pittsburgh @ Baltimore, Jim Nantz, Tony Romo

FOX (early) = Minnesota @ Green Bay, Kevin Burkhardt, Daryl Johnston

FOX (late) = New Orleans @ Chicago, Joe Buck, Troy Aikman

-----------------------------------------------

Prime time:

TNF = Atlanta @ Carolina (FOX/NFLN)

SNF = Dallas @ Philadelphia (NBC)

MNF = Tampa Bay @ NY Giants (ESPN)

Wasting away again in Texanville...
Looking for Somebody who blocks.
Some people claim that there's a GM to blame but I think
Hell, it could be his fault...

Hey Arky you may not be pumped about the NFL these days, but given all we've gone thru this year I'm still slightly euphoric that football is back this Fall even without the live audiences.
And thanks again for what you do on this site especially on Texans game days. I appreciate it !

You know what, I was watching that meaningless, terrible game last night and at some point I noticed that I was enjoying myself.

Well, I'm enjoying the games just like many are. It's a welcome distraction from Project Fear. I do think they could allow bigger crowds in the stadiums.... 50% maybe?

These teams/coaches/staff are getting heavily tested so what's up with the masks? Does it not make sense if everyone is testing negative that masks aren't needed? I'd rather not go into full-on rant mode about the epidemic and most people wouldn't want to hear it...

I have no issue with mask/no mask but it still creeps me out to see thousands of cardboard faces and piped-in crowd noise. Fox even went so far as to have computer animated fans in the outfield seats at the World Series. When did our media get this notion that fake is preferable to real? Maybe we should just get rid of all the announcers and commentators and just have computer animated news readers giving us their fake news with piped in cheering sections.

Maybe someday we'll find out that none of this shit is real and it's all the work of some teenager with Madden and an X-box.

I know, right? I was thinking of using mannequins instead of cutouts - that would really ramp up the creepiness.....
