Clowney passes on long contract.

Looks like Clowney will be taking the franchise deal while playing for free agency next spring.

This would seem to increase the likelihood that the Texans will trade him for the best deal they can get, whether draft choices or established players.

It looks like the Raiders are currently the only team with two first-round picks in 2020 (Chicago's from the Khalil Mack trade).

Earlier this summer, I toyed with the idea of trading Clowney and their choice of OT off our roster and a third round 2020 pick to Washington for LT Trent Williams, and DE Montez Sweat.

Can you craft anything better? If so, let's hear it.

If the deal is next year then I think you wait to see how the young OTs we drafted look before you do anything else. OL is the big need. Secondary is a big need too. In general I like trading for established OL help but I'd rather get secondary help in the draft.
