Texans pick up option on Clowney
 

Multiple source report the Texans have exercised the fifth year option on Jadeveon Clowney, that means he's guaranteed to be in the fold for 2017 and 2018. Not a surprise, he's guaranteed $13.8 million for 2018 however it does not shut the door on a negotiated extension, possibly done to spread out the cap hit on a new deal.

I hope I'm wrong on this, but their is the possibility he won't have a very long career. I believe the nature of the injuries and procedures he has done aren't good on the long term. He's a freak though, so maybe he proves me wrong.

If he stays healthy the next year or two, then maybe he'll get the nice pay day/2nd contract.... and I'm hoping he earns and deserves it...
