Potential Draft Day Trades - Rivers?

Seems to be a lot of buzz building that San Diego wants to make a run at Mariota. While I thought Rivers was done a few years ago, he has bounced back nicely the last couple of years and could be a good (albeit, expensive) bridge QB for some team. Apparently he's from an area of Alabama that is about 1-hr away from Possum Holler, Tenn. The Titans holding the #2 pick almost assure Mariota, and Rivers would make a nice bridge to Mettenberger. Rivers is 32 and still has a few years left. Question is, would the Titans want to jump down that far in the draft? IMO, it would take nearly a future killing offer for SD to jump that high, Rivers involved or not.

I suppose Titans will get many interesting offers and rumors from many teams to jump up to no 2 spot. I would think Titans would like to stay in top 10 picks to consider a trade, but depends on complete trade package offered.

I think Mariota is undrafted until a few spots after the Titans at #2. How far he falls don't know, but he will go somewhere in the top 5 or 6 picks I think which may or may not involve a team trading up.

Whisenhunt is probably due some credit for Rivers bouncing back in 2013 since it looked like he was in decline the two years before that, so it would also make sense from that standpoint. And Whisenhunt's best season is Arizona was when he had a proven vet in Kurt Warner as his starter; the rest of his time there, with younger/developmental guys, the QB position was a mess -- Matt Leinart, Derek Anderson, Kevin Kolb, etc.

But giving up the #2 pick for a guy who'll turn 34 before the season ends is a move that a team that's built to win now makes. Does whoever is now running the Titans really think they're that kind of team? Unless they'd be getting other picks and/or players with Rivers, which I doubt.
