ItB.com Official Suicide Contest

I'm not planning to run one this year and I don't know if Keith wants to put up a prize but, with the season starting this weekend, here's what's on the docket:

9/10

Pittsburgh at Tennessee

9/13

Kansas City at Baltimore
Philadelphia at Carolina
Minnesota at Cleveland
Miami at Atlanta
Detroit at New Orleans
Jacksonville at Indianapolis
Denver at Cincinnati
Dallas at Tampa Bay
NY Jets at Houston
St. Louis at Seattle
Washington at NY Giants
San Francisco at Arizona
Chicago at Green Bay

9/14

Buffalo at New England
San Diego at Oakland

For the uninitiated, the quick rules for the game are that you choose one game each week where you declare which team wins. If that team loses, you're out of the contest. If your team wins, you continue to the next week but you are forbidden from choosing that team again for the rest of the game, making each week a little harder because you'll have fewer good teams left to choose from.

Obviously, whichever game you choose, you have to call it before that game kicks off and you can't change your mind after the game you select has begun (i.e. don't call Tennessee and then change your selection to San Diego at halftime of the Tennessee game.)

So, with that quick and dirty introduction, I'll go with Baltimore this week.

Give me NO

painekiller 09-10-2009 09:29 AM

I'll take Baltimore

Mike 09-10-2009 09:48 AM

I'll take Baltimore.

Keith 09-10-2009 10:45 AM

I will send an ItB t-shirt to the winner. This contest almost runs itself so long as everyone plays by the rules and takes ownership in their own entry.

And it will be a lot easier to watch if either N.O or Baltimore lose this week. :p

That said, I'll take Baltimore.

New Orleans please

dadmg 09-12-2009 05:53 PM

New England Patriots ... my guess is that the Bills try to remedy some of their O-line after week one when they don't have to sign a guaranteed contract for vested veterans, especially after the Pats embarass them on MNF.

CWade 09-12-2009 10:51 PM

I'll take the Giants. :o

Foo'ball Fool 09-13-2009 12:28 AM

that's OK with me....I'm still living off my "perfect season" from a dew years ago.

Note to all contestants...

When you post your picks for Week 2 (and beyond), please include your prior weeks' picks as you cannot pick the same team twice.

Also, editing your prior week posts after your game has begun will be cause for disqualification. If you want a t-shirt that bad, donate to the site, and I'll be happy to send one to you domestic first class. :D

There's just not an obvious rout in the offing this week. So, given my jinx nature, I might as well help the Texans out.

Fonz the Boss 09-16-2009 11:12 PM

Well i do have the Texans losing in week 2 on my predictions thread. And seeing how they are facing one of the AFC's elite teams on the road I figure its a no brainer.

Last two years the Bengals have knocked me out of week 2 when I have picked them to win. So maybe if I pick them to lose this time I'll make it. So,

1) Giants
2) Packers

NickO 09-19-2009 09:51 PM

Foo'ball Fool 09-20-2009 01:59 PM

Since I forgot to post before the noon games started, I'll go with Pittsburgh for week 2. I had Seattle in week 1.
